Names.org has released its annual predictions for the Most Popular Baby Names for the year. For the year 2021, the group found the name Liam is the most popular boy’s name, while Olivia is the most popular name for a girl. The rankings were based on the most recent data on births from the Social Security Administration, trends from recent years, and user interest from millions of monthly visitors to Names.org, according to a news release. A US government committee has described YouTube Kids as a “wasteland of vapid, consumerist content”. In a letter to YouTube chief executive Susan Wojcicki, the US sub-committee on economic and consumer policy said the platform was full of “inappropriate… highly commercial content”. Google launched YouTube Kids in 2015 as a safe place for children to view appropriate content. YouTube said it had worked hard to provide “enriching content for kids”. Read more…

I don’t understand why people have to rain on others’ parades. Really. How miserable and insecure do you have to be that you can’t just shut up and enjoy someone else’s glory. I was at a wedding recently and one of the bridesmaid’s toast was one part typical, heartwarming jokes, and the other part was inside jokes very dear to her and the bride—making the bride laugh harder than any other toast.
